The gallery faces south. It's white space is completely visible from
its big glass front windows. Almost a shop window. Avoiding the 'black
cube' problem so common in media art, we constructed a kiosk, a sort
of lean-to structure that screened some sunlight from the interior allowing
for some data projection, while being itself eminently visible from
the street - a kiosk.
The installation comprised wooden structures, both free-standing and
floor-based, along with materials like cable, tape, a bear carpet, reflectors,
drawings and letters, email slide show, performance photos, video, double
video, internet hypercinema on laptops, a rubber bear, bubble wrap and
various odds and ends.
