The first loop.
Our rule for St. Etienne was: No technology touching the floor. The room allotted was previously the German Salon: Penck, Kiefer, Immendorf. We decided to draw with our cables - ethernet up, power down - on the walls, and let drawings and texts 'leak' from them. The floor was morphed with a gray truck tarpauline. fold so part appeared shiny, part not. It was a 'staging area' and supplementing the 6 surveillance cams aimed at our space, we added our own cam - the MAMCAM - trained on the two grays, the floor and the tarp. You could almost feel the space getting sucked out of the space. Surveilling nothing but the space between the wall and the grays, MAMCAM exports empty space.
